| Seller Ability to Recover Repair $$ from Buyer We are selling a home in North Carolina, we have a signed Purchase Agreement and have come to agreement on several repair items. The
buyer requested a substantial amount toward a specific repair which
has been documented within our repair request/reponse documents.
We suspect the buyer simply intends to "pocket" these funds and never
perform the repair since it took them weeks to find a contractor who
would agree there was even a problem (3 others stated no problem).
Would we (seller) have any basis for reclaiming these funds from the buyer, after a reasonable amount of time, or in the event the house were to go back on the market without having had the repairs completed?
Thanks for any thoughts on this matter. |
