Seller Damaged Property During Repairs


What is the name of your state? California
Hey everyone . I am in the process of buying my first house, and it's been nothing short of a nightmare. When we got into contract, the seller agreed to pay all termite damages as recommended on the termite report that he had done in January. Well, part of those repairs required that the deck on the side of the house (the sliding glass door from the master bedroom opens onto this private deck) be removed to allow the termite guys to have access to the property. The seller had the termite work done last week, but has decided that the reassembly of the deck is my problem. That's right, it's laying in pieces (some of them broken and damaged) in a heap on the side yard. Does this seem wrong/illegal to anyone else? The carpet in the livingroom also needs to be restretched as it was disrupted by the termite pros. Again, the seller says it's my problem. So I'm stuck with a choice...back out or buy damaged goods...is that really all I can do?What is the name of your state?

Forget the carpet issue, forget the deck issue, MY question is, why on earth would you want to purchase a home with a termite infestation problem???

Dont close until


send a letter to the seller tell them to put the house back together, and if the home is masonry I wouldnt worry about termites, (with proper treatment)
