seller is late

The contract set the closing date deadline on 1/30/2009.

The seller did not process the title/deed correctly and won't have it ready for another week at best.

I want to see if I can be compensated $1050 (the amount my apartment is charging me for moving out late). My agent has already contacted the seller and they refused to compensate. They seller agent has been entirely unhelpful throughout the entire process, she doesn't answer her phone, and now she threatened that if walk away from the deal, then I won't get my $1000 security deposit.

**A: no way for us to tell. Read your contract, and if you are buying why are you paying a security deposit rather than earnest money deposit?
