is seller liable?

What is the name of your state? CA

I bought a townhouse several months ago and recently found out bathroom wall is leaking and we have home insurance company come over and they told us that the problem was due to seller/contractor's negligence to weld one of the pipes. Therefore the home insurance won't cover it.

BTW. the pipes are inside the walls and there is no way for inspector to see them.

The damage was quiet extensive, but the seller/agent was not cooperative.

What are my options? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

How old is your house? This may help determine what kind of remedies may be available to you.

**A: did you not buy a condominum unit in the townhouse complex? Read your CC&R's as the pipe may be a common or limited common area. IF not, hire an attorney and go after the Seller and listing agent.
