Selling a home in Texas

What is the name of your state? Texas

my husband is trying to sell a home that was purchased during his previous marriage.the house was paid in full prior to the divorce, however, in order for the ex to get her money in the divorce settlement, she took a lien out on the home. this was so my husband could re-mortgage the home.she received her share, but never released the lien on the home. now my husband is trying to sell this home, but is not able to because of the lien on the property. she has not responded to his request to release the lien, even though she received her money. what legal right do we have? he has divorce papers indicating he is the sole owner of said property? we need a quick resolution to this matter.

**A: have his attorney take her to court and have the court force her to release the lien.

We are trying to avoid going to court, any other suggestions?
