Split house/split thoughts

West Virginia - My mother and her brother and my father all own shares in a hunting lodge in West Virginia. My mother and father are still married. My mother's brother has decided to leave his share to someone outside the family and its turning the rest of the family inside out. Is there anything that we can do so that it stays in the family? We've tried talking to him - but nothing. We've offered to buy him out. We've even threatened to put locks on bedroom doors so that the other person and his family can't use it. We've been in joint ownership with another family and know its no fun. Never thought it would happen with family.
