Sprinkler system in unit

What is the name of your state? il [chicago]

I am buying a townhome and found out during my inspection that the sprinkler system for the whole courtyard [about 30 units] is on my meter and the controls are in my unit. Is this legal? Since they didn't tell me this information to begin with, can I get out of my contract?

**A: and what did the HOA have to say about it when you aksed them to give you the history and status?

It is new construction so no has lived there previously.

**A: so, isn't there an HOA? Also what did the project developer, builder, plumbing contractor, architect, mechanical engineer and building inspector say about the issue when you asked them? And what does your CC&R's state with respect to common elements, expenses etc.
