structural decay found after sale

What is the name of your state?

new york

purchased home 7 years ago. just found out that all of the outside wall beams and sill plates have corroded due to water damage that was not evident when property was purchased. contractor states that water damage is very old.
due i have recourse against seller ?

**A: yes, if you have hard evidence and can prove that the Seller knew or should have known of the damage. Is your home made of structural steel?
