Title Insurance

What is the name of your state? New Jersey

Our property was originally deeded to my wife and I. It was later transferred to my wife only. 22 months later a judgment was entered against me in MJ Superior Court. We now want to sell our house and I'm told that I may have trouble getting title insurance. Anyone know if that is the case?

Thanks

**A: the judgement should not be on title to the property since the judgement was filed after your transfer. What else is going on?

The judgment was the result of an out-of court settlement which I defaulted on several years prior to the deed transfer. Just couldn't pay anymore.

**A: something tells me that you deeded the property for the sole purpose of evading the judgement. There may be a fraudulent transfer of real property claim against you.
