Two Contracts On One Home And Property

What is the name of your state? TEXAS

Hi,

I recently sold a home. The home was in my name and I recently paid taxes for 2004. Sell went through flawlessly end of story so I thought. I found out that a bil had tried to sell the home the same time I was selling it. He made a contract with with another buyer. Here are my questions......

First of all, is he able to legally sell a house that is in my name?? The home is in my name only. What is going to happen with this seller who signed this contract with him? He is threatening me saying that the seller is going to sue him for $100,000.00. Can any of this fall back on me? I did not give him permission to sell my house and I did not sign any type of document stating he could sell my home.

He is saying that he loaned my boyfriend $25,000.00 to buy the house in the first place. On that note, he did loan me $4,000.00 to pay the final payment of the sale price when I purchased the house. It was being forclosed on and $4,000.00 was needed to be paid to stop forclosure. He says he has a cashiers check made out to the title company as payment for the house. I know that my boyfriend gave him $25,000 cash for a cashier's check to make payment for the house. He did not want to pay the title company cash.

Is there any recorse that I need to take? I know I did everything correct and legal in selling the house. I just don't know how he could have made a contract with someone else without me being there to sign it since the house is in my name?

Thanks for the help in advance!
