| Undisclosed plumbing issues What is the name of your state? RI
I recently bought my first home. After several months here, a large water stain has appeared in the kitchen ... the ceiling was freshly painted before I moved in, and I think the sellers covered a plumbing problem without disclosing it ... there are several other issues too, from electrical problems to insect issues. The house was an estate sale that they wanted to sell quickly and I bought it for a song, but frankly, it was all I could afford. I signed a dual agent agreement with the sellers realtor, and I hired the inspector that the realtor suggested. I think I got suckered. Do I get another inspection and then call a lawyer .. or do I call the realtor first or a lawyer first? I have very little funds to work with and don't want to start off in the wrong direction and then be unable to fix the problem if it turns out that I haven't any recourse. Do I have any recourse at all, how hard will it be to prove that the sellers covered up the plumbing problem? And, where do I begin? Thanks |
