Veterans not welcome

We are currently working to purchase a home in the state of Maryland. When we made our offer for a '66 well maintained home, we were aware another potential buyer was trying to buy this place. They had made a committment to another place and are trying to get out of their previous contract. Meanwhile we sent in our offer which was the listing price, with no contingencies, and of course we answered the question pertaining to what type of loan we would be getting. Our offer was turned down purely because we are using VA to buy this home. Isn't this a form of discrimination? In this day and age where they are flying a flag outside the home they are selling, they can, without guilt, say as a veteran, my money isn't good enough? Cash is cash, who are they to dictate where we get the money, so long as we get it? By the way, a flag is more than yard decoration to most in this country, I am optimistic. Thank you for your responses, Slurp
