Want out of the house contract- help

What is the name of your state? NY

We signed the contract for the house in July, in it the closing date said on or about August 30th 2pm sellers atty place, giving them up to thirty days from august 30th, Our mortgage commitment papers are ready so we were ready to close, sellers got delayed stating they needed to find a CO for the dormer, September 13th their atty says they dont have the CO's, that 2 1/2 years ago they closed without them...So now they want us to wait at least another two weeks for them to obtain a CO for the dormer, pushing it past the September 30th....Is there any way for us to back out of the deal? They are missing the CO's for the dormer, the carport, and the 2nd bathroom...and their atty openly admitted its his fault.. it sounds like his atty acted in bad faith..HELP.....we really want out.

And since you already stated you had the letter what would it take to put it in an envelope, lick a stamp, address said letter and mail it?

Or are you wanting someone here to hold your hand, pat it and say over and over again "there there poor thing".???

We dont want to have to wait 30 days from the forcing letter..... is there ANY way to back out SOONER without losing the deposit....
