I had a question. I live in the state of Illinois and my ex-husband got custody of our son almost 9 years ago, due to my age at the time. He is going to be 10-years-old in a week. We got divorce when I was 18-years-old and I am 26 years-old now, remarried and have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. I wasn't sure the legal age the child had to be to make his own mind up to come and live with us. His father and his step mother of 7 years are having problems and she moved out. He is physically abusive and mentally abusive as well to his wife. I just need to find out the age requirements that a judge would listen to him. Because he does want to come live with me and my husband and daughter. Anyone out there that can help, please get back to me through e-mail if you would like, [email protected]
Thank you
