What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia

The situation is:

Father and Mother have joint legal custody, with mother the primary custodial parent, so dad gets visitation rights every other week-end and every other Wednesday after school.

Mother, step father, and step-grandmother say the child has a right to choose to live with mother at age 11, therefore they are denying father visitation at every whim.

Dad believes this and has given up. What is the truth?

Dad's choice to be a weakling. Who are you in this situation?

There is NO truth to this whatsoever.

There is NO state in the entire country which allows an 11 year old to choose which parent s/he lives with, or allows that child to refuse court-ordered visitation.
