i went to an attorney 2 1/2 years ago to get an increase in child support under kentucky's laws. i told him at that time, my ex's attorney drags his feet on any matter. the other attorney came up with a new calculation and he began making the new payment. our calculation is over $150 more/month. neither attorney are trying to make contact with each other to get the increase finalized. my concerns are: 1) will i receive the additional money back from the day i filed for an increase 2) did my attorney just cost me the additional amount for not staying on top of the case 3) is there a time limit on child support increases before you have to start the process over again 4) can i hold my attorney liable for non performance if this costs my kids the additional money from the past 2 1/2 years.
