Does uninterrupted vacation time mean no phone calls as well?

    This is in Utah...

Mom gave Dad 30 days notice of two weeks vacation, but no itinerary. She's gone out of state and has left no contact/address info and is now ignoring phone calls/texts to her cell phone. Her new husband texted saying that their vacation time is uninterrupted and that efforts to contact the children via phone is harrassment.

Dad has already filed an order to show cause on her leaving the state with no itinerary, denial of visitation time and denial of phone contact with the kids on other occassions. The court date is in July. Can dad add this in as another denial of phone time?

Does uninterrupted vacation time mean no phone calls as well as no visits?

    Thanks

Well, Stepmom/Dad's GF, what matters is what's in Dad's court order.

Does Dad's court order specify phone time?
Does Dad's court order require that Mom answer his texts/messages in a certain amount of time?

What does the order state about phone contact, etc?
What does the order state about out-of-state travel?
How has Dad been denied visitation?

Who are you in this situation?

    I'm stepmom.

Dad's court order does specify phone time... mom/stepdad are insisting that uninterrupted vacations supercede that phone time.

No, there is no order requiring Mom to answer his texts/messages in a certain amount of time. That request has been included in his order to show cause.

I would agree that "uninterrupted" means that dad can leave them the heck alone for 2 weeks. It's only 2 weeks.

Strange - you seem to know that she is out of the state, but she provided no contact/address info. How would you know she's out of state?

Not that it matters, it's really none of your business.

    I'm the stepmom.

The order states that the parents have to provide itinerary - dates, contact #'s, addresses, when they travel. Mom hasn't provided any of that. Well, dates and a vague "southern california" as to location.

Their order does include phone time, mom is insisting that uninterrupted vacation time supercedes phone calls.

Dad currently has an order to show cause in progress because Mom has denied midweek visits entirely, and doesn't allow the kids to call their dad, only allows them to talk to him once every other week or so. He has standard visitation.

As I stated... she mentioned the dates they were going out of town, and gave southern california as their destination.

Both parents are court ordered to provide addresses, phone numbers and third party contacts when they go out of town. Also phone contact with the kids who are still very young has been ordered.

So yeah, it kind of is our business.

Who are you in the big picture? Are you dad? Stepmom? Dad's girlfriend? Grandma?

What does the court order state regarding contact? WORD FOR WORD! Redact the names.
Parents should remember 3 things: Love your kids more than you hate your ex; when you have children the relationship with the other parent is until death; your children determine what type of nursing home you end up in.
Nothing stated by me should be taken as giving you legal advice or forming an attorney/client relationship.

    Oh, it's certainly Dad's business.

When advisors ask what Dad's court order states, we/they mean, what does it state. Not what you remember, not what you think: exactly what it states.

Next up: Dad needs to create his own account to ask his own questions about his legal business. Thanks.

    No, you were vague.

Now I see you are also being rude.
