In preparing for a potentially nasty custody battle over an 8 & 5 yr old boys, does verifiable drug use, or the discussion of additional drug use, or a criminal record for possession have an impact on who is awarded custody if that person is the mother?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Criminal convictions can be used to impeach a witness/make them look bad. Child endangerment laws are very serious. If there is verifiable proof of drug use by one parent, it is strong proof that environment is not healthy for the children.
