My son's father has asked that he please be able to sign over parental rights. I understand of course that I have to agree to this. I have come to the conclusion that it might not be a bad thing. He has never had anything to do with him anyway and child support has been sporatic. If
I could ensure that my son would never go to him in the even of my death by doing this then I would do it. I don't care about the money.

My question is ...in the state of Kansas can two parents agree that one parent is going to relinquish rights without having a step-parent or adoptive parent come into the picture?

Thank you for your help!
