In Kentucky a child was conceived and now the mother says she wants to move to Alabama. Does the father have any rights to avoid this from happening? I understand that he must prove paternity before anything else and this will be done when the child is born. Can the father force the mother to bring the child back to Kentucky once this is done?

Mom can do anything she wants before the child is born, and the state where it is born will have jurisdiction.

If Mom waits until the baby is born before relocating, she can be forced to return the child to KY. However if she moves before she gives birth, putative Dad is out of luck and should start looking at long distance parenting plans once paternity is legally established.

Dad cannot prevent Mom from moving in any case.
