Generally, sole custody ONLY means that you get to make educational/medical/legal decisions for your child/ren without consulting with your ex.

It does NOT mean you get to control your ex in any way. You cannot determine whether or not visitation will happen, etc. You are not in charge of your ex. You are in charge of the major decisions in your child's life.

Oregon Statute 107.154. When a court orders sole legal custody of a
child to one parent:
(a) The parent has the primary rights and responsibilities to
supervise, care for and educate the child. These rights and
responsibilities include but are not limited to making major
decisions about the child and the child's residence, education,
health care and religious training.
(b) There is a presumption that the parent acts in the best
interests and welfare of the child. The presumption may be
rebutted by a preponderance of the evidence showing that the
parent's acts are not in the best interests and welfare of the
child.
(c) Unless the presumption described in paragraph (b) of this
subsection is rebutted, a court shall defer to the parent's acts
and decisions about the child and may not substitute its judgment
for that of the parent.
(2) + } Unless otherwise ordered by the court, an order of sole
{ + legal + } custody to one parent { - shall - }
{ + does + } not deprive the other parent of the following
authority:
{ - (1) - } { + (a) + } To inspect and receive school
records and to consult with school staff concerning the child's
welfare and education, to the same extent as the custodial parent
may inspect and receive { - such - } { + school + } records
and consult with { - such - } { + school + } staff;
{ - (2) - } { + (b) + } To inspect and receive governmental
agency and law enforcement records concerning the child to the
same extent as the custodial parent may inspect and receive
{ - such - } { + the + } records;

{ - (3) - } { + (c) + } To consult with any person who may
provide care or treatment for the child and to inspect and
receive the child's medical, dental and psychological records, to
the same extent as the custodial parent may consult with
{ - such - } { + the + } person and inspect and receive
{ - such - } { + the + } records;
{ - (4) - } { + (d) + } To authorize emergency medical,
dental, psychological, psychiatric or other health care for the
child if the custodial parent is, for practical purposes,
unavailable; or
{ - (5) - } { + (e) + } To apply to be the child's
conservator, guardian ad litem or both.
