Having them gone every other week seems like a lot for all of us. it is just a break from the norm of the school year. I am sure you all understand.
So make her an offer in writing. Maybe two consecutive weeks in the summer, and one extra weekend? Maybe give up an upcoming holiday (Easter, Memorial Day...). Or ask if she would like them two weekends in a row. Honestly, it's not her problem that you want them on her time, so give up something for it!
