I posted a question on oct 29th about mom dropping son off here at dads last week with all his belongings saying she would go along with an agreed modification to custody because she could no longer control son (16 yrs.). She has now changed her mind, --refuses to let son stay at her house, but also refuses to sign the papers. his dad took him back a couple of days ago because she will not sign the papers, she then brought him back again last night.-dropped him off about a block away, and told him to go stay at his dads.-The only reason my husband cares about having "custody" is because this will be about the 6th time that son has come to live with us, enrolling in school, etc. then whenever mom gets mad at dad for any little thing, she comes and takes him back.--so this time dad told her that he will no longer let son move in with out papers..she says son is no longer allowed to live with her.--Is this considered abandonment? and if so how can dad get custody without attorney?--she has even went and signed papers to get him into the high school here by his dad**************thanks
