Mother is on drugs, need custody need help fast!!!

my husbands ex wife lives in arkansas and we have the kids for the summer. when the kids come in they want to stay here with us. They told us that they wanted to talk to a social worker about how they live with their mother. Each child talked to the worker seperately and they told him that their mother was putting needles in her arm and smoking weed and that they also have an abusive stepdad. what other steps do we take to at least get temporary custody of our kids??Their stepdad just got out of jail for possession of crystal methayne. They are supposed to be back to arkansas by july 14. we are in west virginia. please help!!!

Best bet is to get an attorney and have him file a motion for change of custody or modification of custody order. get the Social Worker in contact with one there. Ask them to have the social worker there do a home study. Tell them you want to charge the Parents with Mental and emotional abuse, Also Neglect or a child. State that the current living conditions for the child are unsafe and can cause serious developmental problems with the child as they grow older. Throw everything you got at them. Try and get all records on the step-father you can. Your attorny should be able to collaborate with one over there to get things rolling. In the meantime have the social worker do a home study on you. This way you have one that states you seem to be able to provide the children with a safer more stable home for the children.
