What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas and Nevada
My boyfriends kids are in foster care in Nevada. He lives in Texas. The mother took off when he tried to file for custody in Texas and moved to Nevada. She was pregant with his daughter at the time and took his son. In January the state of Nevada removed the kids from the mother and he finally found out where they were. He has been fighting with the state for the last 10 months to get the kids. The state says mom will never be able to have the kids on her own but feel they haven't exhausted all services to mom. They want to find her someone to basically parent her while she parents the kids.
Boyfriend and her were never married but he is the kids legal father. We are stuck at this point on where to go. He was told to file for custody and then they wouldn't have a choice to give him the kids but we aren't sure where to file in Texas or Nevada?
