I live in Florida. My ex-wife took my daughter from FL to Ca for 5 years against the final judgement which said she couldn't leave the county much less the state. When I caught up with her she brainwashed my daughter against me. I have no relationship with her. I can't reqt make up visitation b/c she is an adult. I am considering filing a suit against her. Do I file a contempt of court in family court or start a new Civil case? Does anyone have any experience and can share outcome? Any suggestions?
Is there a statute of limitation?

So your daughter is now a legal adult?

Its not parental kidnapping if mom had primary custody.

Suing mom now isn't going to improve your relationship with your daughter.

Your child is now an Adult and is emancipated .

Five years have gone by .

Sorry ,I believe the court will dismiss any Petition on those grounds .

While each state has their own SOL for criminal contempt , it's been 5 years .

If the child was still a minor civil contempt may be decided , but again the child is now emancipated .
