placement of my child

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WI
I was on this site a few days ago regarding placement of my daughter well I just picked her up today and was given adivce from the local police that I should pick her up since he abandon her for months, my daughter was living with the ex-stepmom.My concern is in my court paper it states that he has physical placement, but he hasn't had her for months, would she be turned over to him would I have to get a change of custody.

Seems Dad leaving her with ex-Step is good enough change of circumstances for the child to justify changing custody.

Do you actually believe the police will force you to turn over the child ?

The same police Dept. that told you to pick the child up ?

Don't answer the door .

Stay at a friends or family until Mon.

Hopefully that he isn't too familiar with. And make sure your car isn't too obvious.

But in actuality, if he has already abandoned her to this extent, you shouldn't have to worry that he is going to come flying back and try to get her. The police wouldn't have advised you to come pick her up if they were very worried about having to be called upon to take her back from you.

How far behind are you on child support? Were you paying child support?
