What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

I have heard that I'm going to be subpoenaed by my sons ex-wife and ex-girlfriend in a child custody case. I had spoke with the guardian legal attorney when the battle began, but made it clear that I did not want my son to know I had spoke with her and that I didn't want anything further to do with the case. Can they really make me testify against my own son? I am very upset and don't know what to do. Thank you!

Yes, you can be subpoenaed and if you refuse to testify that can come back and hurt you.

There is no parent/adult child privilege.

If you ignore the subpoena you can be found in contempt of court and spend time in jail. You can possibly be escorted to court by Sheriff deputy. You do NOT want to ignore a subpoena. You put yourself in the middle of this when you voluntarily spoke to the GAL. If you didn't want involvement, you should have stayed out of it.
