What is the name of your state? illinois

my problem is this: We have custody of 2 children from his other marriage. The cusstody agreement was entered into record in Spartanburg, South Carolina. We now live in the state of illinois and have been here a little over a year. He lost his job recently and that has caused us to have to move out of state. We are planning to move on the 16th of this month to Maine and are planning to take his children with us. No where in the custody papers does it say he can't leave state with the children.Which is obviously true because he left South Carolina with them.My delemma is this: We just recieved a letter in the mail from a lawyer. The letter states that page 1 is a registration of judgment and page 2 is a domestication of judgment. We were wondering if those papers meant that we can't leave state with the 2 children?
