What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX
A friend of mine was served with a temporary restraining order when she went to pick up her child for her normal weekend visitation. It was an ex parte TRO request. The order signed by the judge instructing that the TRO be issued stated that it would remain in effect until further order of the court or when it expires as a matter of law. A hearing was set, presumably at or around the expiration date. However, my friend passed the hearing based upon settlement negotiations. Now that she has seen the proposed settlement, it is nothing like what she agreed to. She is not represented by counsel. The father is represented, and the child has an amicus (ad litem) attorney. There is no history of DV.
When does a TRO that was issued and served on 1/30/09 expire?
