Change of Venue Questions-Wisconsin

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin

I have a 19 year old daughter. Her father and I have a child support order in place in Taylor County. Her father is living in Marathon County and I have moved to Calumet County. I would like to get the case moved to Calumet County since I have limited time to collect the owed child support. Her father owes me approximately $94,000.00 in arrears and $56,000.00 in interest. The current child support in Taylor County is only collecting $50.00 a month. I have talked to the Calumet County Child Support and they would collect more money.

I have a court date set for 11/11/09 to change the venue. I am wondering if you can give me any advice on how I should handle this case? I cannot afford an attorney.

I have to ask - is your ex working?

(and isn't the SOL in Wisconsin 20 years to collect back support?)

Dogmatique,

He is working. And yes it is like 20 year to collect. And at $50.00 a month, I will not even get close to what he owes me and what I paid out to raise her. I also did not get help from the state, I did it myself!

I have been here almost 3 years now. I have looked at that site...but I am not sure what you were trying to tell me to look at. I am just looking for advice on how to handle court? Thank you.
