What is the name of your state? IL

My husband has been paying child support on his 15 y/o dsughter who lives with her mother in VA. She is pregnant and due in April. She will be 16 at time of delivery and has quit school and will be getting her GED. She will be receiving child support for her infant, the father is older and in the Navy. (Bad situation) Do we still have to continue paying support for the 16y/o? She will be living at home with her mother still but she will be working, not going to school?

Thanks,
Just curious!

this is the VA info on emancipation:
Virginia when child turns 18, of if child is in high school, when child turns 19 or graduates, whichever is first.

Soooo, if and or when she earns her GED that may emancipate her even though it comes before her 18th birthday, however, if she figures this out, she might not go for a GED and simply wait until she turns 18 or go back to school. Needless to say, if and or when she earns her GED, turns 18, or returns to HS and turns 19, your husband will have to petition the court to end child support.
