What is the name of your state? Georgia

I am 3 months pregnant and the father of the baby is not responding to me now that I decided to keep the baby. I am not married. I want to know he can't just give up his financial rights just b/c he doesn't want to pay right without my consent? Also, do I have to wait till the baby is born to file any paperwork or can I do something now?

I am just not sure what the next step is.

thanks,
Betsy

Once the baby is born you can file to establish paternity, support, custody/visitation. There is nothing that you can do until that time.

No...he cannot abandon his responsibilities without your consent....Yes, you have to wait until the baby is born to pursue anything.

Until a child is born and paternity is LEGALLY established, as you are unmarried, he is not the legal father. At this point, he has NEITHER legal rights nor legal responsibilities regarding the child.
