What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

My husband's ex has filed to have child support extended and possibly increased. However, over 10 years ago, she refused to allow him the visitation that he had a right to. Acting in the best interest of the child (who is disabled), he chose not to have her held in contempt of court. Can the fact that she has refused to allow him to be part of the child's life be a factor in the new amount of child support that he will owe?

Nope. She denied him visitation, and by him sitting on his hands and saying.... ok, he didn't have a problem not visiting his child. I just wonder, where... does anyone in this world figure that it is in a child's best interest not to have a relationship with their parent where that parent isn't an abusive monster?????

Umm...the FACT IS that HE did not exercise HIS right. It is a COURT ORDER, not a suggestion. He is ordered to pay support just like she was ordered to have the child available for his parenting time as ordered by the court. If he continued to go and exercise his time and she denied him, then he would have had a case -- THEN. Not now.

So, the answer to your question is "no."
