What is the name of your state? California

I am a custodial parent in Orange County, CA. I opened a Child Support Services case against non-custodial parent because he is thousands behind in court ordered child support. He is asking for a review, claims he did not work in 2004, so we may very well end up in front of the judge.
Am I OK going with CSS people, or should I get an attorney? He is attempting to get child support reduced.

I have a case opened through LA with my son's father. I have custody. Even though he wasn't working that year, his arrears will still add up. If he's trying to reduce child support to what he can afford, then let him. He still needs to live too. But he will still owe you back pay for the years he was unemployed. If he files taxes, you'll get that too.
