What is the name of your state? NJ
When I got divorced I took back my maiden name, my children have no contact with their father other than support through probation, he moved out of state and I have no idea where he is. My children would like to have their name changed to my maiden name. If I do this can he stop paying support, can I do this? Thanks for any help.

You can file to have thier name changed and it won't affect his status as thier father. He will be served and have the right to contest the name change. However, it will be up to the judge to decide after both sides are heard.
