DH pays CS and contributes to college for 21 Yr old daughter. Her graduation date is supposed to be May 2007. She failed a course last semester and barely passed another. She has changed majors 3 times. Because of the changes she will have to take summer classes this summer and hopes to graduate possibly 2008.

His ex wants him to pay half of the summer costs. Not exactly sure what the costs are yet. Just a ball park figure of $6,000.00, and that is only for 3 courses and not sure if that includes room & board at school. And that is according to her school website that shows her grades and tuition costs/account and so forth.

His divorce papers say he and ex are to contribute towards college and daughter has to get scholarships and student loans and any earnings to go towards tuition and such. Daughter does have student loans (not sure if they took any student loans for summer costs yet) and does not work.

DH is curious if he should pay the costs for summer school since he has been paying every semester. Relationship between father & daughter is none at all.

I told him he should probably just pay so that she can graduate sometime in near future. At least maybe pay a 1/3. He says he is tired of being treated like an ATM and not knowing what is going on.

He has not heard from ex yet because the website was just updated today. So he is trying to get things in order for when that phone call/letter comes from ex.

Any thoughts?
