What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?Florida
Lady friend is in jail for contempt of court and a writt of attachment for 17800.Court thought she was employable in 2009( Div.) ,based on job she had in 2003.Child born 2004.She gave up work, stayed home took carre of the kid. Got no alimony, ordered to pay $570/mo. and ex got full custody. She May need speech therapy and has anger management problelm.Bitter, v stubborn, refuses to pay. No job last 2 yrs, almost no cash left.(i am not sure she could get a job at McDonalds) Has a run down house in TN. not even rentable in its present condition. Maybe worth 15-17K. Her Ex's attorney drew up a quit claim deed to give property to Ex.She refuses to sign.So that is the background.
Question. If no agreement is reached. at the end of the 90day contempt of court jail time, what does the judge do? Do they keep her in jail, set a trial
date and find her guilty of non payment of child support ?Could she then get one yr in jail and a $1000.00 fine?
