Do we still have to pay child support?

We live in Colorado and need to know if we still have to pay child support to my husband's ex-wife. Their daughter is 18 and is living with her boyfriend and their 14 month old daughter. She does not work. My hudbands ex is still demanding we pay her child support and has made it clear she will drag out any modification we try to do which will end up costing us more money on top of paying child support. She has the funds to hire any lawyer she wants and to fight this for months if need be. Any ideas?

You don't have to pay a darned cent. But your husband will need to modify the order in court because he may have to pay until the order is modified.

I'd really like to see that order that say YOU and Dad pay child support. That would truly be a first. Since when did it take three to tango???

Really OP, Dad has to file for a modification of the support. Until then he needs to keep writing the checks.

Please give him my congratulations on being a grandad.

What exactly does your husband's court order state regarding when CS is to end?

Can he prove that daughter is no longer living with Mom?
If he can, he can file to stop the CS.

In the mean time, he will have to continue to pay until the court orders otherwise.

by all means he needs to keep paying till the court order is changed to say he doesn't. Main thing is for him to REALLY stay on top of this.
