    What is the name of your state?Ca
    custodial parent is mother, she provides ins. for child.does father still have to provide coverage?
    willing to, but want to know if its mandantory

    If it's not in the custody or support order then no. It's not required.

    Is it required per the court order? If so, then YES.
    Adoptive parents ARE "real" parents. Sharing genes is not what makes you a "parent"!
