My sons dad was ordered to pay $230 something biweekly well I guess he's caught up and now all of a sudden out of the blue the state is still taking the same amount but keeping all but $99 once a month because I get food stamps, but they deduct my food stamps because of child support, I'm irritated and pissed off and feel like this was an overnight change they didn't tell anyone. they're taking money from my disabled son I can't afford anything. This wasn't always like this. now what am I going to do if I ask for more money the dad will lose out for sure cause the states taking it out labled as child support and turning it into state funds! I just don't agree with this at all. what do I do I can't drop it and hope his dad will help me out willingly.

States will seek reimbursement from a non custodial parent for certain forms of state aid given to a child.

Not normally for food stamps but almost always for cash welfare.

Do you also receive cash welfare or have you in the past?
