The new spouse is not a party to the support order unless the assets are so co-mingled that the court cannot trace their ownership.

Keep the assets separate.

Why would they? It isn't the new spouses responsibility to take care of the children financially. If they have no legal rights to the child then they have no financial responsibility to the child either.

"They" calculate" both spouses income for debts and responsibilities BOTH spouses assume together, such as a mortgage or car payment.

But supporting your child is ONLY the responsibility of you and your ex, as you and your ex are the child's only parents.
