What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IL
My sons father has always been very difficult to collect child support from. I have only received support consistently for 2 (out of 9)years because I was finally able to garnish his wages. However, he recently quit that job and started his own business. I found this out via a third party, not from my ex. I have filed contempt charges because my ex failed to notify the SDU and me of the employment change as he is required to do per the agreement he signed. I also had a witholding notice served (on June 3,2010) to his business. The last payment I received was in April.
I did verify via an online records search as well as a DMV search (business is a car dealership) that this is in fact, my ex's business. It's owned by him and his fiance. They also both have posted info about the business on their (public) Facebook pages. They started the business in March 2010. (which coincides with my payments stopping in April)
My questions are:
1) How do I enforce the witholding notice?
2) Can I sue him (his business) and make him pay the $100 per day fine plus any other associated cost if he fails to follow the witholding notice?
Thanks for any help you can offer. =)
