Does anyone know anything about the Friends of the Court system in Michigan? What are the qualifications needed to work there? Recently the local office has gone completely against the child support order that has been in effect since my daughter got divorced over seven years ago. They allowed her ex-husband to withhold child support payments for the time he kept them during the summer, even though he was not supposed to. According to the final decree, he is to get a 50% reduction for the time they spend with him and this is already figured in. My daughter has not received child support since Oct. and they cannot tell her when it will be reinstated. They did tell her she should budget better so she will not be caught short next time.........even though he was not supposed to stop sending child support. Basically, their response to her questions is......oh well.
