    Jurisidiction, income calculation

Hello, I live in New Jersey and my ex wife lives in Pennsylvania. Our daughter lives with her grandparents only in Pennsylvania and the grandparents even though I have been contributing money for my daughter are planning on filing for child support. I am wondering how this would work.

I am remarried. Would my new wife's income be counted in how much the court orders for support? Would my ex-wife's parents also need to file for support from my ex-wife if they file for support from me? What state's child support laws have jurisdiction in calculating child support payments since I live in N.J. and my daughter in P.A.? Would I need to travel for support hearings in P.A., could I attend by telephone or would the support petition be filed in P.A. than transferred to N.J. for hearings and decisions for my part of the support?

They aren't required to, but can. If public assistance is involved in any way, then yes, Mom will be ordered to pay CS as well.

The state where the child lives is the state whose guidelines will be used.

    You can appear by phone.
Nope, everything should happen where the child lives.

Why not raise your child yourself?
Children aren't coloring books. You don't get to fill them in with your favorite colors.
