Lawyer Fees?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

I am getting conflicted information about legal fees and wanted to see if someone here could help clarify.

What could be the expected legal costs to defend a CS Mod Hearing and to initiate my own Motion to Enforce? I understand that lawyers have different fees but should I really be looking at 4K in lawyers fees or would a lower amount seem more plausible? I'm being told by many that they've paid that in a full divorce case and that a mod and enforce should be much lower. While I realize this is a retainer and some portion of it might be reimbursed, I am being told by my current lawyer that much of it won't be.

Thanks for your assistance!

It could cost 4k. It could cost a few hundred dollars. it could cost 10k. It depends on a great deal of things -- how many hearings is it going to take, what is the scope of discovery you expect (depositions, subpoenas, interrogatories, etcetera). I have had divorces span the spectrum from a few hundred dollars for my time to several thousand. It is very easy to see how a motion to enforce and a modification hearing could cost a lot.

Nothing stated by me should be taken as giving you legal advice or forming an attorney/client relationship. The devil is in the details after all.
