What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nevada Can anyone tell me if there is a statute of limitations for the collection of child support arrears? Can the defense of laches be used if CP did not pursue collection of arrears for 12 years after the divorce was final? The children in question were then 26 and 28 years old. We are in the middle of doing a modification due to a permanent disability, and we just need the correct information. During the 12 years after the divorce, the CP knew where the NCP was and could have taken action at that point, but did not. The case was not pursued until 12 years had gone by, and now that he is permanently disabled and can no longer work, she is going full force. Any help would be great. Thank you.
This is a double post.
