New marriage

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

My new husband has two children from a previous marriage. We have the girls every other week, Sunday to Sunday. Currely we pay $600/Mo plus any medical expenses they may incur. I have added the girls to my medical/dental and vision insurance benefits and am wondering since we provide for the girls and have them the exact amount of the mother and her live in fiance are we obligated to continue paying the child supportWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

i've got some great news for you. YOU are not obligated to pay a dime toward supporting children that are not yours.

providing medical insurance and dad having 50/50 custody time does not eliminate child support in all instances.

How great that you have added the girls to your insurance. What a wonderful way to help your husband with HIS responsiblities.

$600 is not much to pay for HIM to be paying for HIS two girls. The children are well worth it and you are a generous legal stranger to be helping their father.

Please remember that when it comes to his children, you have no rights whatsoever. You are a legal stranger and it can make for a very ugly situation with Mom and Dad's parenting plan for you to become overly involved.

Just to be clear, your husband has a court order for child support and must continue paying it until a court orders otherwise.
