Why can't "I" claim kids on taxes?

CP (Father) has custody, he gets to claim them.
NCP (Mother) ordered to pay roughly $500/mo in CS.
NCP is unemployed due to my job transfers (military).
Spouse of NCP (me) pay CS for NCP.

Where's my tax relief?

well NCP would have to file to have it added that she gets to claim the kids every other year since she pays support. therefor as her husband since you guys would probably file a joint return you can claim them every other year.

I am shocked that you did not notice the sarcasm there...

It would cost way too much to get anything changed right now... Notice my location.

As long as her kids are being taken care of, I am fine with it.
