Question

Right way to do it

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OHIO

MY X AND I WERE DIVORCED IN WASHINGTON STATE, CHILD SUPPORT ORDER WAS FILED THERE. SHE MOVED TO WISCONSIN, AND I AM IN OHIO. IN THE DIVORCE I WAS TO PAY HER DIRECTLY, BY PERSONAL CHECK, AS I HAVE DONE WITH NO ARREARAGE. I ALSO PAID ALL MEDICAL, EVEN HER PORTION, AND FOUND OUT SHE HAD NOT BEEN SENDING ME ALL OF THE BILLS AND I HAD TO COME UP WITH ABOUT 2,000.00 TO GET H E R OUT OF COLLECTIONS. ONCE SHE WANTED A MODIFICATION, THE COURT DISMISSED HER PLEA WITHOUT PREJUDICE ( SOLDIERS AND SAILORS ACT)
NOW MY YOUNGEST CHILD WITH MY X IS OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL (6-2009) HAS TURNED 18 (11-2009) AND HAS BEEN LIVING OTHER PLACES THAN WITH HER MOTHER FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS NOW AND IS CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN COLLEGE. DO I NEED AN ORDER TO STOP PAYING SUPPORT? AND IF SO FROM WHICH STATE DO I NEED IT?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

i have help now

my neighbor is here helping me type like this
i found the requested information
3.10 how support payments shall be made
support payments shall be made pursuant to the following alternative payment plan: by direct payment from the obligor to the obligee.
the order may be submitted to the washington state support registry for enforcement if a support payment is past due.
3.12 termination of support
support shall be paid until the children reach the age of 18 or as long as the children remain enfolled in high school, whichever occurs last, except as otherwise provided below in paragraph 3.13
3.13 post secondary educational support
the right to petition for post secondary support is reserved, provided that the right is exercised before support terminates as set for the in paragraph 3.12
i hope this helps and thank you for your patience.

normally, i would say file for a modification to stop the support order.

however, the wording on the 3.12, set aside a judgement for college.

seems mom did try to add the college on, but her motion was dismissed, (you were overseas?) but it seems she didn't file again correctly.

now, i'm thinking that possibly college is out for the older child, but mom may be able to do something about the younger child is she acts quickly enough.

wait for other replies.

File to stop child support. If mom wants support through college she has to file to request it AND win her request.

Question

thank you

i think a request to stop payment is a good idea too
but
do i have to have one in order to stop paying if my child has already
met all of the mentioned requirements. and if i do which state should issue it?
yes i was overseas at the time of that request. that was 4 years ago. my youngest child was 18 yesterday(11-01) nothing from my x about before that date saying she wanted anything more.
